Gymnastics No More...

This past Tuesday was our last Gymnastics Class. It didn't necesarily end, but I decided we were done. Given that it is summer and we are socially in demand (ha ha) it was beginning to be difficult juggling playdates, fieldtrips and beachdaze. Besides, it was very informal-which is good, but it moved slowly and I think Elly was bored. I was hoping to see some typical gymnastics skills. She tumbled and wasn't really getting the various jumps (straddle and tuck predominately) and there wasn't much else. I did see many positives-the somersault, some following direction and staying focused on the teacher, some movement refinement, awareness of other kids (ie kids outside of our mommy group), and of course, energy blasting from all that play. Here are some pics from our last class. As you can see, Bri was just starting to enjoy it-guess we can pick up at the other place in town and let her play too after the summer.
